 About Us

Urban Craft Apothecary is founded by a husband and wife team that combines her love and training in natural and alternative medicine and his talents in the fields of graphic and website design. All of our products are lovingly and hilariously tested on family and friends making them completely cruelty free. We also pride ourselves in sourcing the best quality and most ethical ingredients for all our products and our packaging.

Our Story

The journey into creating Urban Craft Apothecary began several years ago when one of our founding members was looking to avoid store bought deodorants due to their aluminum content. The hunt, was on. Within short time we found that unfortunately, all the alternative deodorants on the market at the time left them smelling worse then if they hadn't used anything at all. After trying other natural remedies and still finding that the water buffalo smell continued to follow, we finally decided to make our own. Sweet nasal relief! The homemade deodorant paste was the first natural solution that actually worked.

The success of the deodorant,  led us to experiment with making other products at home to replace toxin filled products that are typical of today's store bought items. The recipes started flowing and over the years, recipes have been perfected, some of which include beauty serums, body oils, soothing elixirs for headaches and more. At that point, it just made sense to share the homemade batches of goodness with the world. Together with her husband, and the support of their family and friends, Urban Craft Apothecary was born.

We are eternally grateful for our customers because each of their purchases is not only helping to support our dream but it is also supporting other small businesses. We source our ingredients from fair trade and organic suppliers, who also donate to various charities, as much as possible. We also make the effort to package all of our products in recyclable containers.  Wouldn't you want your personal care products to be just as conscious about your body and the environment as you are? We sure do!
